Props
As pictured above, Bunraku plays used some small hand props to enhance the reality of scenes. These included pocket knives, utensils, and "handkerchief-like tenuqui," whose sizes were small to match the puppets.
There were also larger items used as props. These included chests, drawers, and lighting fixtures.
Disposable items were used as well in plays. An example would be a letter, which later would be torn up and thrown away.
